Gregorian chant sounds great in a hospital stairway.
I speak from personal experience here. Now, when I was a little kid walking somewhere with my dad, he would often break out into scat singing. He's a jazz piano player, and tunes just pop out of him unconsciously. I'm a chip off the old block, but I'm a church guy. And I love Gregorian chant, that stuff medieval monks sang in church seven times a day. I spout off chants at various times.
I visit in hospitals a lot, and prefer stairways to elevators. And maybe it's because Lourdes is a Catholic hospital, but chant sounds great in their stairways. Fabulous acoustics. One of these days, I'm going to get caught, and I'll be seen as weird. Again.
